Description
A bare wooden block transfers every hard point straight into the work and leaves a flat facet. Cork gives just enough to bridge, which is why every block worth owning has had a cork face for about a century.
The body is a dense hardwood sized to a quarter sheet with enough overhang to grip, and the ends are radiused so the heel of your hand does not get cut into over a long session.
The cork is replaceable; it is glued, not bonded, and comes off with a scraper.
