Description
The failure on a cheap articulated lamp is always the spring: it sags, and from then on the head creeps down while you work. The arms here run on tensioned springs with an adjustable pivot, so when it does eventually soften you tighten it rather than replace the lamp.
The head takes a standard E27 lamp, so nothing is proprietary. Clamp jaw is lined so it does not bruise a benchtop.
Cable comes out of the base rather than the arm, so it does not get dragged through the pivot every time the lamp is repositioned — which is how the lead on most clamp lamps eventually fails.
