Description
A blade screwed to the face of a stock moves. This one is housed in a trench cut into the rosewood and pinned through the brass, so the ninety is held by the joint and not by three screws.
Brass face plate takes the wear where the stock rides the edge of the work. Rosewood for the stock because it is dense enough to stay dimensionally honest through a damp winter in an unheated shop.
It is a reference tool. Keep it off the bench floor and check it against a straight edge twice a year.
